Overview
The Workstation Setup window allows you to customize your workflow and some details about your shipping station.
NOTE: To access this window, first open the OzLINK Settings screen. In the General menu, select Workstation.
Rating Setup
If you use more than one carrier, OzLINK can move your shipment information to all of them at the same time. This can be used to compare various rates. Then, outside of OzLINK, you can choose which carrier to use and complete the shipment in that carrier only. Keep in mind that different carriers provide different shipping options, so the shipping prices displayed may not be for exactly the same service.
If you do not want to compare rates between carriers, select "Only send data to the carrier whose name is contained in the shipping method." OzLINK will look at the shipping method for the transaction being processed and automatically move the shipment information to the correct carrier. For more information on shipping methods, see Setting Up Shipping Methods.

Process Shipment Automatically
Check this box if you would like the shipment to be finalized and processed automatically by OzLINK. This can speed up your shipping process once you are comfortable using OzLINK. OzLINK will move all of the shipment information to the appropriate carrier software, and then tell the carrier software to process the shipment. Since each package can only be sent with one carrier, this option is not available if OzLINK is sending shipment information to multiple carriers (see 'Rating Setup' section above).

Display QuickBooks Transaction Automatically
Check this box to display the transaction in QuickBooks after you enter it in the OzLINK Bar. This can be helpful if you are working from a printed page or other information source and would like to confirm some information in QuickBooks before the shipment is completed.
| |
Saturday Pickup Service
If this box is checked, and you are shipping a package on a Saturday, this will request a Saturday carrier pickup from your facility. If this box is not checked, Saturday Pickup Service will not be automatically selected in the carrier software. You could still select it manually in the carrier software if you would like to handle Saturday Pickups on a case-by-case basis.

Carrier Insurance
Enter a value here to insure shipments over a certain value. Shipments under this value will not be insured. Set to zero to never insure packages.
NOTE: If a shipment has multiple packages, only the first package will be insured.

Package Weight
OzLINK can fill in the shipment weight in the carrier software automatically. Options include:
OzLINK Scale is a free utility from Oz Development that allows you to integrate your scale with multiple carriers. Selecting this option will send the OzLINK scale data to each of the carriers being used. For more information and to download the tool, click on the 'Get OzLINK Scale' button or see: http://www.ozdevelopment.com/scale/
NOTE: Place the package on the scale before entering your transaction in OzLINK.
This will send a package weight of 0.5 lbs to each carrier. This is most useful during testing.
Each time a transaction number is entered in OzLINK, a message box will appear asking for the shipment weight. This is useful if your shipping station is using a scale that isn't attached to the computer, or if the weights of your packages are already known.
|
|
Use this if you do not want OzLINK to worry about sending the weight to the carriers. This can be useful if you are only using one carrier and you already have your scale set up and working well with the carrier software.
| |
Shipment Origin
OzLINK needs to know which country you are shipping from to function correctly. This determines which shipments are domestic and which are international.
