Make Sure your Printer is Installed
Confirm that your label printer has been successfully installed on your computer and that your printer drivers are up to date. Your IT staff may need to do this for you.
Configure DAZzle
Open DAZzle. You will need to configure a shipping label for each type of mail class that you use.
-
Choose your label size by clicking
Layout, then
Media in the DAZzle menu. You will need to know the name or type of the physical label that you will be printing on. For more details, see:
Label Layouts
-
Choose your printer by clicking
File, then
Printer Setup in the DAZzle menu. Select the printer you will be using and the paper size you are using. Also be sure to select the 'Save printer information with layout' checkbox. For more details, see:
Label Layouts
-
In the same Printer Setup window as step 2, click the Test Print button. If your label comes out correctly, continue below. If your label comes out blank, is missing pieces, or is otherwise incorrect, please see: Label Layouts for extra details concerning your label setup.
-
IMPORTANT: Make sure to save your layout by clicking File, Save Layout (or Save Layout As) in the DAZzle menu.
Configure PC Postage
Now that your labels are set up, you must tell PC Postage where to find them and which labels to use for each mailing method. Open PC Postage to get started.
-
Check the folder where DAZzle is storing your label layouts. Each layout is stored as a separate file.
-
In PC Postage, use the menu options Setup, Domestic and Setup, International to tell PC Postage where your label layouts are for the relevant mailing types. Click the browse button next to each type to select the layout file on your computer. For more details, see: Domestic setup or International setup.
Try a Test Shipment
Now you can try a test shipment with PC Postage before you start your real shipments.
-
Set PC Postage to Test mode (so that you won't use real postage) by clicking the Setup menu, then General, then selecting Test in the postage mode area.
-
In the main PC Postage screen, click Edit to enter an address, then click Save when you're done. Enter a weight and select a mail class on the main screen. For more details, see: Complete a Shipment with PC Postage
-
Click Process Shipment to test your shipment.
-
If your label prints out correctly then you are ready to switch to production mode. If your label doesn't print or partially prints, refer to Label Layouts or the Troubleshooting section.
Enter Production Mode
Switch to production mode in PC Postage by clicking the Setup menu, then General, then selecting Production in the postage mode area.
