How OzLINK Mobile Works

Overview

OzLINK Mobile for NetSuite gives warehouse staff an efficient and accurate way to complete their tasks on the warehouse floor.  OzLINK integrates with NetSuite in real time so your staff always has the most up to date information.

The warehouse employee carries a handheld mobile computer with him as he works.  He can select a task to complete on the device, including picking an order, putting away inventory, moving items, and several other tasks.  The mobile device will then gather the required information from NetSuite and direct the warehouse worker appropriately.  If there are any problems or inconsistencies encountered during the task then the device will let the worker know immediately so the problem can be resolved.  Once the task is complete, the device will automatically update NetSuite so your data is always up to date throughout your organization.

The mobile device communicates over your wireless network in your warehouse.  The device communicates with NetSuite through an intermediate program called the OzLINK Mobile Server, which runs on a computer on your network.  This server communication is transparent to anyone working on the mobile device.

The OzLINK Mobile Server

The OzLINK Mobile Server manages all of the communication between your devices and NetSuite.  One server can handle multiple mobile devices.  The server software is installed on a computer that is attached to your network, and should generally be placed on a computer that will be designated for server-style tasks only.  The speed of your NetSuite communication will primarily depend on the speed of this server and its internet connection.

The OzLINK Mobile App and your mobile devices

The OzLINK Mobile App is an application installed on your mobile device.  When you want to complete a task you start up the application, choose the task to complete, enter your NetSuite credentials and follow the directions on the screen.  The device connects to the OzLINK Mobile Server automatically once the initial setup has been completed.  The wireless device must be able to connect to your wireless network throughout the process, so your warehouse will need to be equipped appropriately.

The mobile app will communicate with the server every time you start a new task or complete an existing one.  NetSuite will then always be in sync with your work and will immediately catch any problems that might come up.

The mobile computer also has an integrated scanner to read the barcodes in your warehouse.  You can scan barcodes on items, bins, sales orders, and on any other barcoded information to reduce keystrokes and increase your speed and accuracy.
