Psion WorkAbout - Extra Setup

 

Overview

The Psion WorkAbout needs some extra software installed before OzLINK can function correctly.  Other supported devices already have this software installed by default.  The software is called "SQL Server."
 

Download Microsoft SQL Server on your Device

 
  1. Open Internet Explorer on your device.  NOTE:  Use your device, not a computer.
  2. Navigate to www.ozdevelopment.com/support/downloads
  3. Tap the link for OzLINK Mobile
  4. Tap the link for Psion
  5. Tap the link for sqlce30.wce5.armv4i.CAB
  6. Save the file anywhere on your device (the default location is fine).  If your device asks if you would like to install, open, or run, choose yes and skip the part below.  If it asks to save instead, continue below.
 

Install OzLINK Microsoft SQL Server on your Device

 
  1. Navigate to the file that you have just downloaded.  The default download folder is usually 'My Documents,' accessible through the file explorer.
  2. Tap on the downloaded file.
  3. Microsoft SQL Server will install automatically.
 

Check to see if the installation was successful

 
  1. On your Psion, tap Start, then Settings.
  2. Tap the System tab
  3. Tap Remove Programs
  4. Make sure SQL is in the list of programs.  Do not remove it.  This is simply confirmation that it was installed.  If it is not in the list, please retry the installation steps above.
