Overview
You can use the mobile device to put away items, meaning move them from your receiving bin to the bins used for picking. You scan the item numbers to be put away, then enter the bins and quantities as you deposit them in the appropriate bins.
You must have Bins activated in NetSuite to use Inventory Put-Away.
Put Away Inventory
From the main OzLINK screen, tap Inventory Put-Away and enter your NetSuite credentials when prompted.
-
Scan or type the item numbers that you would like to put away. A list of the entered items will be displayed below the input box. The item must have some quantity in your receiving bin. If you would like to start over with an empty list, tap Clear List.
-
Tap Continue once you have entered all of the item numbers that you will be putting away. OzLINK will connect to NetSuite to check on the items you have entered. Any errors (such as a mis-keyed item number) will be displayed, with the option to continue or cancel and fix the mistake.
-
The device will display the preferred bin for the first item. (For more details, see:
About Bin Sorting). Proceed to that bin, then scan or enter the bin number. Scan or enter the item number to confirm, then enter the number of items you are putting away. If the default bin is not suitable for some reason, simply deposit the item in a different bin and be sure to enter the new bin on the inventory put-away screen. If the bin has not been associated with the item yet then OzLINK will automatically associate it once you confirm that it wasn't a mistake. The bins must already exist in NetSuite - if OzLINK does not recognize new bins in your warehouse, see:
update bins.
-
If you would like to change the bin or item displayed on the put-away screen, tap the Next button to cycle through each item that you entered earlier.
-
Once you have finished putting away your items, tap Finish in the bottom right corner of the screen. OzLINK will update NetSuite with the new inventory locations. If you encounter an error, continue below, otherwise put-away is complete.
-
If you receive a message indicating that you have used an invalid bin, but the bin is in fact valid, do not cancel the put away.
-
Log in to NetSuite on a computer.
-
Check that the 'invalid' bin is present in NetSuite. Create it if it isn't already there.
-
Update the bins in the OzLINK Mobile Server by clicking the
File menu, then
Setup, then
Update in the bins section. For more details see:
Bins not recognized.
-
Close the server setup window so your mobile devices can connect.
-
Tap Retry on your mobile device. The put-away should complete successfully as long as the bins are now present in NetSuite and the bins have been updated in OzLINK.
-
To avoid this issue in the future, always update your bins in NetSuite when they change in your warehouse, and update the bins in OzLINK every time they change in NetSuite.
Review Scanned Items
Tap the Scanned tab at the bottom of the screen to view a list all of the items that have already been put away. The list will display each bin for every item you selected for put-away, along with the quantity you have placed in each bin. You can continue to put away additional items while you are on this screen.
Cancel Put-Away
Tap Actions in the bottom left of your screen, then Cancel Put-Away to completely cancel your item put-away. If you had put away any items, you must remove them and return them to your receiving location to maintain inventory accuracy in NetSuite. OzLINK will return you to the entry screen to enter a new item to put away. Tap Main Menu if you would like to complete a different task.
Fast Scan
Fast Scan removes the ability to edit the Qty section of the put-away screen, but can increase your speed if you often put away small quantities. You must enter or scan the bin number once, then you can scan the item number that you are putting away. OzLINK will assume you are putting away a single item for each scan. To move to a different bin or to put away a different item, tap Next.
To turn Fast Scan on or off, first start putting away some items. Tap the Actions button in the bottom left of your screen, then tap Fast Scan to toggle the feature on and off.
Reverse Sort
Reverse Sort will walk the worker through the bins backwards, useful if your receiving bin is at the end of your warehouse.
To reverse bin sorting, first start putting away some items. Tap the Actions button in the bottom left of your screen, then tap Reverse Sort. Choose the option again to return to the original order.
