Installation Location

The OzLINK Mobile Server will need to communicate with your wireless mobile devices, so it needs to be installed on a computer that can access the wireless network.  The server can be installed on any computer, though we recommend a mid to high power PC.  The software will need to run continually on the computer, so different users should not be logging on and off.  Also see:  System Requirements.

 

Installing

Download the OzLINK Mobile Server software from the Oz Development website.  Place the .exe in a folder of your choice.  The user logged in to the server must have read and write permissions for that folder.  Place a shortcut to the OzLINK Mobile Server in your startup group if you would like it to start automatically when the computer starts up.  Run the program to start the server.

 

NOTE: The OzLINK Mobile Server will only function while a user is actively logged in to the computer and the computer is not asleep.  You may want to disable any automatic sleep or logout timers on your server.
