Multi Package ProcessingOverview
OzLINK allows users to Batch Rate or Batch Ship a multi package order from a single row or from multiple rows in the spreadsheet. Listed below are the 3 multi package scenarios that OzLINK can support:
Scenario # 1)
The “Weight” field in the spreadsheet contains the total order weight rather than the individual package weight. The “Number of Packages” field contains the total number of packages in the order. OzLINK can process this multi package order from a single row in the spreadsheet by evenly dividing the total order weight across the total number of packages in the order. The write-back results are written back to that single row. Below is a screen shot illustrating the data fields that need to be mapped for this processing method. This example would divide 100 Lbs across 4 packages resulting in four 25 Lb packages. Notice how we have added a data field called “Multi Package Single Row”. This field must be set to a Y either from an assigned spreadsheet column or by putting it between quotes directly within the setup screen.
Scenario # 2)
The “Weight” field in the spreadsheet contains the individual per package weight rather than the total order weight. The “Number of Packages” field contains the total number of packages in the order. OzLINK can process this multi package order from a single row in the spreadsheet by using the defined weight for each package in the order. The write-back results are written back to that single row. Below is a screen shot illustrating the data fields that need to be mapped for this processing method. This example would process four 100 Lb packages from a single row.
Scenario # 3)
The “Number of Packages” field contains the total number of packages in the order, but there is a row inserted in the spreadsheet for each package in the order (Ex: A five package order requires five rows in the spreadsheet). This allows the user to define unique values per row such as weight and dimensions. The “Weight” field in the spreadsheet contains the individual per package weight rather than the total order weight. OzLINK can process this multi package order by evaluating all the rows associated with the order. Below is a screen shot illustrating the data fields that need to be mapped for this processing method. This rating or shipping method would first look to the “Number of Packages” field to find how many additional rows to include in this order. The write-back information is written back to each individual row.
